Box – Office Gen

A slew of movies were released in the recent past
and the time of Dussera hosted for the release
of some of the most anticipated movies that are
in contention for the box-office. Indiaglitz glances into the
coups and duds among those recently out movies.

The month of October has been quite eventful for
Tollywood as the festive season of Dussera and Diwali
bought in an array of anticipated releases. A dozen movies
were out for the festival season among which Kotha
Bangaru Lokam and Chintakayala Ravi stands tall.
‘Nenu Meeku Telusa’ was applaudedfor its spending
visualization. In early October, Ashta Chemma
became a notable hit and received rave reviews all over for
its youthful style. Souryam comes second in the race
winning the hearts of B and C centre audiences that was
released before Dussera. Kausalya Supraja Ram bagged
good criticism for its new style.

Finally, there are no prizes for guessing the flops that
includes the earlier Rainbow and the latest Three and
Keka. The movies lagged behind and became
miserable duds in the box office.

The newly out ‘Hero’ and Kasipatnam Chudarababu’
has failed expectations and didn’t reap the expected
level of éclat.

Good

The Dussera movie Kotha Bangaru Lokam
made a sensational opening with its banner name
of ‘Dil’ Raju’s and kept the momentum on to
become a hit. Venkatesh shouldered the
responsibility of bringing Chintakayala Ravi out
and it was accomplishedwith the help of a good crew.
The movie entertained the family in entirety;
humor and a simple but neat plot gave it the step ahead.

Earlier to the festive season, Ashta Chemma is one
among the cream of good movies that didn’t disappoint
the audiences. The movie made it to the top of the
box office entirely depending upon the laughter therapy
as its anthem all the way. ‘Nenu Meeku Telusa’ starring
Manchu Manoj with its impressive theme is also among the
top list in the Box office. Gopichand’s Souryam did make
it to the line with his trademark action and he
sustained his niche in this film.

Raksha made inspired by the Hindi ‘Phoonk’ could be included
in the list as it managed a decent run and reaped the budget
for the makers. The theme of the movie wasn’t captivating to everyon
but it was liked by a certain strata of filmgoers that led to its success.

Bad

The makers were all talks about their work but at the box office the movies
‘Ninna Nedu Repu’ and ‘Mallepuvvu’ failed to evoke applause. It is not a good product from the makers and has nothing new to offer for the spectators.

The plausible movie Kausalya Supraja Ram is receiving rave reviews for its innovative theme yet it the crowd is less and it might not regain the lucre spent.

???

Teja’s ‘Keka’ was touted but it turned to be complete a dud, becoming the ultimatum for his creativity. It made the impression that the director is drained out of ideas and completely exhausted.

Following high on his heels is Shekhar Suri’s ‘Three’, that not only lacks thriller but torments the spectators. His ‘A Film by Aravind’ changed the thriller genre which provoked much anticipation for his next. Sometimes it did make one wonder if the same director of ‘Three’ earlier enthralled the audience to a great extent. Rainbow’s reach need not be elucidated.

Bottom line

Pristine word of news is ‘Ashta Chemma’ from the first half and ‘Dil’ Raju‘s ‘Kotha Bangaru Lokam’ is the topper of box office. ‘Nenu Meeku Telusa’ has also had a great response and is doing big in all centers. It’s an astounding opening for Manoj. ‘Raksha’ and ‘Souryam’ is on the same thread line that went on a steady pace in collections. The latest release, comical entertainer ‘Blade’ Babji starring ‘Allari’ Naresh seems to be the next in the line that is making a commercial success. On a whole, the Tollywood box-office is a blend of coups and
